The Engen company, by order of Power Center Mayskiy JSC (PCM), purchased, delivered and commissioned an MWM 2032 V16 generating set for Bogdanovich Generating Company LLC (BGC), a manufacturer and supplier of heat energy and electric power. The resource supply company and the EPC contractor have been cooperating in the field of power source supply since 2016.
The main BGC's activity is the production and supply of steam and hot water (heat energy), the generation and transmission of electricity. The company also provides services to socially significant facilities of the town of Bogdanovich and the Sverdlovsk Region. The well-being of residents, the operation of the industrial park and various production companies directly depend on its uninterrupted operation.
Due to the need to carry out hot repairs of the gas genset at the power center, the customer set the task to purchase a spare MWM station of 4.3 MW.
The contract between the PCM and Engen companies provided for the supply of imported equipment with an optimal operation time, the implementation of all stages and work necessary for the launch of the gas genset, and compliance with fixed deadlines. Direct purchases of new MWM engines are impossible for domestic companies, however, the competent approach of Engen's specialists made it possible to supply scarce equipment to Russia in such a functional condition that allowed it to be put into operation immediately.
“When selecting a gas genset, it was necessary to inspect a second hand machine to ensure its further trouble-free operation, as well as to assess its potential maintainability,” they say at Engen. “An overhauled gas genset E60 was purchased according to the customer’s requirements. This procedure involves the complete replacement of components and accessories with new ones and the repair of all attachments. In fact, the engine got a new life. All necessary work was carried out as quickly as possible.”
The situation with the supply of European-made gas gensets to Russia is complicated by the fact that the country is under very serious sanctions pressure, which makes it impossible to properly maintain the equipment. It causes its premature failure and, as a consequence, need for repair, the cost of which is comparable with or exceeds the purchase price of new machines.
The advantageous feature of the Engen company is that the customer receives not just a genset, but a guarantee of full regulated after-sales service. As a general contractor, the company carries out a full cycle of activities from engine inspection at the supplier to commissioning and further warranty support. For these purposes, the required quantity of spare parts of European origin is imported through friendly countries.
“Engen service specialists are ready to react to requests within 1–3 days, depending on the distance to a specific facility. In addition to direct service support and supply of spare parts, we provide services for the modernization of control systems,” they note in the company.
The plans of the PCM and Engen companies include further cooperation in the supply of equipment.
